Hardware

Your Lab Comes Home

Your published course fee includes a hardware kit for practical learning. Confirm the boards, sensors, accessories and delivery arrangements for your selected course.

Configurable — finalised per programme

Not every board ships in every programme

Kit contents follow the syllabus. A programme that stops at firmware does not need a Linux-capable board, and one that includes automotive work needs a CAN transceiver. You receive the exact bill of materials for your programme before you commit to anything.

The learning journey

Six steps from choice to working device

The kit is not the point — it is the enabler for the experiments and projects that are.

See which experiments use it
  1. Choose a program

The programme determines which boards, sensors and accessories you actually need. We do not ship hardware that the syllabus will not use.

  2. Confirm the kit

You receive the exact bill of materials for your programme — boards, sensors, breadboard, cabling and accessories — before you commit. If you already own compatible hardware, the kit component can be adjusted.

  3. Delivery

The kit is packed and dispatched to your address. Delivery coverage and timelines are confirmed per cohort and per location before enrolment.

  4. Setup

A guided setup checklist gets your board recognised by your computer, drivers installed, toolchain verified and a first program flashing — before any syllabus session begins.

  5. Guided experiments

Each module has practical experiments run against your own hardware, with waveforms, measurements and results to compare against the expected behaviour.

  6. Project development

You build and keep a portfolio of projects on the same hardware, so the kit becomes a continuing lab rather than a single-use box.

Potential contents

What may be in the box

This is the pool of hardware programmes draw from. Your confirmed bill of materials is programme-specific and shared in writing before enrolment.

Development boards
  • Arduino-class board
  • ESP32-class Wi-Fi/BLE board
  • STM32-class ARM Cortex-M board

Boards vary by programme. A Linux module may specify a Linux-capable board instead.

Sensors and actuators
  • IMU (accelerometer / gyroscope)
  • Temperature and humidity sensor
  • Distance or ambient light sensor
  • Small actuator or relay module

Sensor selection follows the experiments in your syllabus.

Bench essentials
  • Breadboard
  • Jumper wire set
  • Passive components (resistors, capacitors, LEDs)
  • USB cables for the specified boards

Sized so that experiments can be built without extra purchases.

Optional add-ons
  • Logic analyser
  • CAN transceiver module
  • External programmer / debug probe

Availability depends on the programme. Some cohorts provide shared instruments instead.

What you need on your side

Hardware is only half of it. These are the computer and environment requirements for the programme.

  • A computer with at least 8 GB RAM able to run a C toolchain, IDE and serial terminal (Windows, macOS or Linux).
  • A reliable internet connection for live sessions and file transfer.
  • Enough desk space for a breadboard and a USB-tethered board.
  • For Embedded Linux modules: permission to run virtualisation or a spare machine, plus a serial console adapter if specified.
Software you will install
  • C toolchain (arm-none-eabi-gcc) and a build system
  • IDE or editor with debug support
  • Serial terminal and logic-analyser software
  • Git for version control
  • Python for model training in the Edge AI modules
  • A Linux environment for the Embedded Linux modules

All of these have free tiers suitable for the entire programme.

Kit configuration

Everything configurable, listed openly

Your course fee includes the hardware kit. We share the exact board models, dispatch estimate, delivery charges and ownership terms before enrolment.
